Obituary for RJ Nissen

Randy Alan Nissen Jr. was born on September 20, 1976, the son of Randy and Lori (Thiel) Nissen in Estherville, Iowa. RJ died on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his home in Estherville at the age of 40 years.

He attended Estherville High School and graduated 1995. After high school, Rj and Toni began their lives together living in various places in Iowa and Minnesota. RJ continued his lifelong passion by working with hogs and cattle which led them back to his hometown Estherville, Iowa. The next two decades he spent with his three daughters, Kaylee, Taylor, and Karmen by taking them to coonhound tournaments, fishing, camping, canoeing, playing video games, and molding them with his music taste. His favorite times were watching his favorite bands live, being with his two Bulldogs, Tupelo and Juniper, having poker nights with his buddies, being the biggest OU Sooner's Fan in Iowa, canoeing down the river, and spending weekends at the cabin by the lake at his grandparents place in which he called his heaven. He survived cancer in 2010 and lived his life to the fullest inspiring others to do the same

RJ is survived by his soul mate Toni Hazen, his children Taylor, Kaylee and Karmen, his parents Randy and Lori Nissen and his grandmother, Marie Thiel.

RJ is preceded in death by his grandfather Ralph Nissen, Sr., grandmother Juanita Nissen, grandfather Kenneth Thiel, and his uncle Ralph Nissen, Jr.
