Obituary for Antoinette "Toni" Ostendorf (Hoppe)

Antoinette "Toni" Ostendorf (Hoppe)
Anotoinette “Toni” Mae (Hoppe) Ostendorf, age 62, of Estherville, went to be with the Lord on December 29th, 2017 surrounded by her husband and children after a long hard-fought illness.

Toni was born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 29th, 1955 to Alfred and Ellen (Connor) Hoppe. The family later moved to Iowa where Toni was raised. After graduating from Estherville High School in 1973 she was united in marriage to Jay Bandow on July 14, 1973. The couple was blessed with three children, Jarrod, Brian, and Bridget Bandow. Jay passed away on April 10, 2000.

While being a full-time mother, she pursued her dream of being a nurse and continued her education. After earning her nursing degree, she worked her way up to being Director of Nursing at Good Samaritan Society in Estherville and later in Jackson, Minnesota. She retired last summer from nursing for 33 years.

Toni was united in marriage to Paul Ostendorf on October 26th, 2004. The couple enjoyed many years of vacations, dancing (which she loved), and great company. She also loved spending her springs and summers planting and caring for her flower gardens. Toni enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her dogs.

Toni is survived by her husband Paul Ostendorf; her children: Jarrod Bandow of Sheldon, IA, Brian Bandow of Kansas City, MO and Bridget Bandow of Kansas City, MO; her grandchildren: Brendon, Jerica, Jaycelyn, Nicholas, and Attie; her stepsons: Andrew and Alex Ostendorf of Mason City, IA; her sister, Sis (Ted) Coleman of Gillette, WY; her brother, Robert Hoppe of Jackson, MN; her half-brother William Hoppe; step- brother David Crawmer; her special cousin Linda Wahlman; and many nieces and nephews.

Toni is preceded in death by her first husband Jay Bandow, her parents, her half-brother Scott Hoppe, her sister-in-law Mona Hoppe, and a niece Jennifer Hoppe.
