The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Lauretta Walker can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: To Laurette Walker's Family,
Sending each of your our sympathy for the loss of your mother, grandmother and friend. Thinking especially of you Jan. I enjoyed meeting your mother (unfortunately) when she was in the hospital in Mankato. She definitely was a lady of 'true grit' with a pioneer spirit!
God Bless each of you and give you peace. Our sympathy, Gary and Linda Hein

Condolence: Lauretta was my last living Aunt and had the pleasure of visiting her a few times in recent years. She truly was an amazing lady that continued to give to her community, church and family in so many ways. I will miss our phone conversations and pray that she will rest in peace.

Condolence: Lauretta's passing was shared on our family Facebook page. Lauretta was our grandmother Christine Neve Jessen's last surviving sibling and would have been my great-aunt. After reading her life story, I am very proud to be from the same family.

May the Good Lord gently bless Lauretta Walker.

Condolence: My heart is so sad to hear of Mrs. Walker’s passing. My favorite memories are of Dori and I at college and all the care baskets we would get. I was always included and made to feel part of the family. My prayers are with you during this hard time.

Condolence: There are so many wonderful memories of Lauretta, but most of mine are through Girl Scouts. When I think of the efforts your mom put in just to make us better people. My favorite memories are Girl Scout Day Camp at the park in Swea City. Your mom would bring many totes every single day. We would set up our camp spots -- the clotheslines, with the hand wash units, etc. I will never forget many of the useful things she taught me. She was always full of energy and wisdom. The world is a better place because she chose to be so involved in many lives. May God bless you all.

Condolence: Lauretta's family, we are saddened to hear your mom passed away. She was a strong woman which was shown by living alone on the farm for so many years, for watering her special flowers in the park, etc. Although she had a hearing loss, she met the ladies at Loofts to have her tea and enjoyed our company. Jim and I volunteer at the Manor and I even persuaded her to play Bingo! She always had a smile when we came. She will be missed! With sympathy and prayers, Jim and Betty Smith
