Donald "Don" Guge
Donald Richard Guge, the son of Karl and Louise (Johnson) Guge, was born April 9, 1921, near Estherville, Iowa. He passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at his apartment in Estherville at the age of 97.

He received his education in country school. Don served in the United States Army during World War II.

On February 15, 1947, Don was united in marriage to Dorothea Bunkofske in Swea City, Iowa. The couple made their home in rural Estherville and began raising their family and farmed. For hobbies, Don enjoyed woodworking, mowing the yard and having coffee with friends. Dorothea died in 2012.

Don attended Calvary Gospel Assembly and Grandview Baptist Church in Estherville.

Left to cherish Don's memory are his children, LaVone Clemitson and her husband, Dale of Sioux City; Garald Guge and his wife, Sandi of Estherville; his grandson, Christopher Clemitson and his wife, Amy of Sioux City; great-grandson, Cole Clemitson of Sioux City; sisters, Doris Guge and Corrine Guge; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floy Henrickson of LeRoy, Minnesota; Ethel Boyer of Estherville; Darrell Bunkofske of Swea City; Alvin Bunkofske and his wife, Dottie of Temple, Georgia; and Darwin Bunkofske of Armstrong.

Preceding Don in death were his wife, parents; and an infant sister, Donna Jean.
