Obituary for Mark Kinnetz

Mark Kinnetz
Mark Allen Kinnetz was born in Estherville, IA on July 5, 1960, the son of Leonard and JoAnn (Miller) Kinnetz. He passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at his home in Graettinger, IA, at the age of 57.

Mark attended Graettinger Community School and graduated in 1978.

He was united in marriage to Tammy Canny on March 2, 1979, in Sioux Falls, SD. They made their home in Graettinger where Mark worked for Graettinger Block & Tile for seven years until health issues became a problem. Mark and Tammy were foster parents for 23 years and, in that time, cared for over 100 children.

Mark was a member of the United Methodist Church in Graettinger.

Mark enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and spending time with his in-laws in Ottumwa, IA. Mark would do most anything for anybody.

Mark is survived by Tammy; son, Thomas (Kim) Kinnetz of Graettinger, IA; a very special person in his life, Sierra Eldridge of Lincoln, NE; his grandchildren, Mark, Jessica, Kyan and Scarlett; his mother, JoAnn Stueve of Graettinger, IA; sisters, Vicki (Robert) Rooney of Armstrong, IA, Penny Lee and Lori Mortenson both of Arnolds Park, IA; sister-in-law Lynn Kinnetz of St. James, MN; his in-laws, John and Patricia Canny of Ottumwa, IA; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Mark has been preceded in death by his father, Leonard; son, Christopher; step-father, Gilbert Stueve; brothers, David (Dianna) and Dennis; sisters, Barb Hewitt and Lavonne Luhman; brother-in-law, John Canny; niece, Staci Birkland; special great niece, Quinn Ivy Mortenson and his grandparents.
