***** VISITATION POSTPONED UNTIL FRIDAY FROM 4-7 P.M. AND WILL BE HELD AT TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH IN ESTHERVILLE INSTEAD OF THE FUNERAL HOME. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DAY AND LOCATION.*****

Larry Dean Bergeson was born on November 18, 1952 in Estherville, Iowa to Russel and Elma (Davis) Bergeson, Sr. Larry passed away on February 1, 2019 in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 66 years.

Bergie attended Estherville High School and graduated from Jackson Vocational Tech with a diploma in telephone communications. He joined the United States Army and was enlisted from 1970-1972. Larry was united in marriage to Francine Hansen on May 1, 1976 in Estherville. He called Estherville his home for his entire life.

Bergie had various employers including Winnebago Industries, Morrells, Ohrtman Plastering, Mediacom, Hosty, and AgCo. He believed in an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. A day on the golf course was a good day for Bergie. He took the role of Grandpa seriously, never without a sucker in arm's reach to sugar them up. He was a people person, loved his friends and family. He could talk to most anyone, especially if a cold beer was in hand. In retirement he took on a new hobby of backyard squirrel and rabbit hunting.

Survived by his wife of 42 years Franny of Estherville, daughter Terri (Chad) Nath of Grinnell, and two grandchildren Katelyn and Blake. He is also survived by his sisters, Pat (Ed) Harrold of Lakefield, MN, Rose (Bill) Bass of Sheldon, Bev (Jeff) Behr of Lehr, ND, Sandy (Mark) Triggs of Estherville, Cheryl (Jim) Bush of Peterson, half-sisters, Joan Knapp,of Malibu, CA, Lorene Roberts of Chandler, AZ; half-brother, Jerry (Judy) Bergeson of Ocean Park, WA, and many nieces and nephews.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Khloe Nicole Nath, his brother Russel Bergeson Jr, and his sister Leona Bergeson. He is also preceded in death by his nieces and nephews Jessica Bush, Cynthia Wallace, Tina Triggs, Larry Romer, and Roger Romer.
